Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has launched a bioequivalent version of Tiotropium Bromide for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
The inhaler, launched under the brand name Tiogiva, is designed to provide a cost-effective alternative for patients suffering from breathing disorders. The medicine helps open airways and improves breathing in COPD patients.
According to the company, the product is bioequivalent to Boehringer Ingelheim’s Spiriva Handihaler and is among the early generic versions launched in Europe.
COPD is a chronic respiratory disease commonly linked to smoking, pollution, and long-term lung damage. Experts believe affordable inhalation therapies can improve access to long-term treatment for millions of patients.
The launch further strengthens Glenmark Pharmaceuticals’s respiratory medicine portfolio and expands its presence in the inhalation therapy segment.
