Educational Qualification

  • At least Second Class M.Sc. in Forensic Science
  • Specialization, dissertation, coursework, or project work in Chemical Sciences

Option 2

  • At least Second Class:
    • M.Sc. Chemistry
    • M.Sc. Biochemistry
    • Pharmacy
    • M.S. (Pharm.)
    • M.Pharm.

from a recognized university.


Experience Requirement

Candidates must have:

  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience in:
    • Research
    • Training
    • Analytical Work

The experience should be related to the subjects mentioned in the educational qualification section.

The experience certificate must be issued and signed by:

  • Research Supervisor, or
  • Head of Organization/Department

Stage 1: Screening Test

100 Marks

  • English Language – 20 Marks

Negative Marking

  • 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.

Stage 2: Subject Aptitude Test (SAT)

  • Descriptive Examination
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Marks: 120

  • 45% (General Category)
  • 40% (Reserved Category)

to qualify for the next stage.


Stage 3: Personality Test

  • Total Marks: 30
  • Conducted at HPPSC Office, Shimla
